A year of chess, with your name on the card.
Give a chess friend a year of American Chess Magazine: 6 print issues delivered to their door, with a card from you.
For U.S. addresses. Sending abroad? Tick “This is a gift” at checkout — we ship it to them, without the card.
How it works
1. Pick the magazine, tell us who it's for
Their name and address, and a message for the card. Two minutes.
2. A real card goes in the mail
Your message on a printed card, mailed to them — right away or on the day you choose (up to 30 days ahead). It usually lands before the first issue. Add an e-card too, or print a copy to hand over.
3. Then the first issue
With a free copy of ACM No. 1 (1897 reprint), a $19.99 value (U.S. addresses). Then an issue every two months, straight to their mailbox.

Questions
- When does the first issue arrive?
- First issue ships the next business day (U.S.). International orders ship weekly and arrive in 7–14 days. The mailed card (and the e-card, if you add one) bridges the gap — the gift is “given” the moment you choose.
- Can I give it for a birthday that's weeks away?
- Yes — pick the date at checkout and the card is mailed that day (the e-card goes out that morning). Or hand it over yourself: every gift comes with a card you can print right after paying.
- Who gets the receipt and the renewal?
- You do. The magazine, the card and the e-card go to them; everything about payment stays with you, and you can cancel any time in the subscriber portal.
- Is there a digital option?
- ACM is a print magazine, and a gift that lands in the mailbox is the point. Back issues and books are at the shop if you'd like to add one.
